I was thinking…. in the interest of timeliness and to make sure you both remain virgins, I will chaperon and we can just fly from city to city and get this whole thing out of the way in a couple of days! People can just meet us at the nearest airport sign the damn paper, have lunch, and move on.
What about Canada? I feel left out… I don’t understand why anyone smart people would spend two nights in boring ol’ Seattle when Vancouver is just a skip across the border…Hphft!
Hey Jaime & Chris… David & I were just thinking, if time allows it might be fun for you to visit some “real” Kentucky while you are here and make a little side-trip to Bardstown, KY & Loretto, KY (about 1 1/2 hours from Louisville) to visit the Makers Mark distillery (we took Zoe a few years back when she came to visit & had a great time). We would be happy for you all to stay with us for at least two nights. Louisville is great and there will be lots for you all to see, but it’s another world when you get about 20 miles out of the city (David might even say just 5 miles). Check it out: http://www.whisky.com/distilleries/makers_mark_distillery.html
Hey Rawley- thanks for the heads up. I’m super psyched to go back through that area (went through there about three years ago on foot). Heather- we’ll definitely be talking to you before we leave! Adrienne- still up in the air whether we’ll be in just Orlando or Tampa and Orlando. Though, knowing you, you’ll be in some foreign country doing something amazing at that point!
Long drive from Detroit to Charlottesville, but it should be interesting to go from the nadir of America to its zenith.
In between you can drive on some of the nation’s most expensive miles of interstate in West Virginia, so you might as well get your tax dollars’ worth. I hear the river-rafting or canoeing there is top.
Once you’re in the Piedmont, the regular highways are way more fun than the interstates.
I am excited about your road trip…makes me remember our own. Feels like just yesterday. We had a lot of adventures along the way…hope you do too!
If we’re in town when you come we’ll cook dinner for you. Or take you to the club. You ready for my world? Don’t forget your “After 5″ dress and pearls! J/K! It’s more like jeans and sterling silver!
I really hope to see you…take care! And don’t go crazy with all the planning…a wedding is supposed to be FUN! At least, that’s MY belief! But then again, we had a very non-traditional wedding ourselves…a riverboat on the 4th of July with BBQ and a “wear what you want” policy for all bridesmaids and groomsmen…just not your “everyday” wedding! Perfect for me!
I can suggest, or find people to suggest, good local places to eat in: Portland, Denver, St. Louis, Chicago, Madison, Detroit, NYC, Boston, New Orleans, Houston, Austin, Phoenix, San Diego, and obviously LA. Let me know which if any of these city suggestions you would like me to pursue!
Love this concept! I hope your trip is fun and you learn a lot about one another.
Hi, cool post. I have been wondering about this topic,so thanks for writing.
Chris come to Muskegon and ride the seados if you can fit it in

If you target date is around June 13th for Tampa still – I should be around. Instead of keeping it up in the air we can make it a date… Let me know.

Really pleased to see you are hitting Orlando in the summer. I can tell you all the great dive bars and djs in town!
So, are we partying at the BOB in downtown GR? Or we can go to a Whitecaps game.
have something against minnesota? or did you spend way too much time in fargo last year to return to the Northland?

Looking forward to you & Jaime visiting us in Austin!
Oh yeah, we’re game but Barton is gonna have your lunch. June is a great time to visit. We have a place for you to stay.

I will come if you are in Orlando and can’t make it to Tampa. However, I know many more yummy restaurants over on the west side of I-4.
You have NO idea how freaking jealous I am right now.
Where to come meet you, where to come meet you, that is the question!
You finally get to see Wisconsin. Awesome.
